January 12, 2012 Leave a comment

Team Move did it again in 2011 with its second annual Thanksgiving SUPER Move Camp workout.  This Thanksgiving morning ninety minute workout had all our Movers doing a little damage control before the big feast later on in the day!  Damon and Matt were there once again to lead the event like the previous year, and Team Move’s newest trainer made her debut.  It was an exciting event that made history as the largest event ever put on by the company to date. The Year of the MOVE: Dodgeball Season Two!

In the summer of 2011, Team Move held its second season of Dodgeball.  There were a new roster of players this season, and Dodgeball came back bigger and badder than ever.  No player went home disappointed (maybe with a few bruises), and everyone had a fun time and great workout.

Candies That Are Just Scary!

October 30, 2011 Leave a comment

Some may wonder what the staff at Team Move does around Halloween?  After all they are a fitness company, which means that they would pass on candy and chew on some low-calorie gum instead right?  Well, not necessarily.  The TM staff loves candy in moderation like anyone else.  Heck we are human too!  But as our staff sat around with Halloween approaching, they figured they would do some research on some of the worst candies of all time.  Would you expect any less from a fitness company?  We didn’t think so.  Below are just some of the candies that we found that are just down right scary!

SNICKERS

If you’re hungry, you better think again before “grabbing a Snickers bar.”  Snickers takes the cake for the candy bar with the highest amount of calories.  If you ask us, we could think of a number of other things that could satisfy our hunger.

  • Total calories: 280
  • Total Fat (g): 14
  • Saturated Fat (g): 5
  • Sugar (g): 30

3 MUSKETEERS

Sure the name may sound cool, and it says “less fat” on the wrapper so how bad could it be?  That is always the trick to this treat.  When brands lessen the fat content, they usually make it up by adding more sugar to keep that taste that you know and love.  This bar has been shown to have the most sugar content out of all the well-known candy bars with a whopping 40 grams!  One for all, and all straight to your waistline.

  • Total calories: 260
  • Total Fat (g): 8
  • Saturated Fat (g): 5
  • Sugar (g): 40

SKITTLES

Before you taste the rainbow, you better see what are in those colors first.  Skittles will give you a sugar rush like no other.  One regular bag of skittles contains 47 grams of sugar.  If you don’t have an idea of what 47 grams looks like, it is the equivalent to 10 teaspoons of sugar!  The only thing waiting at the bottom of this rainbow is a pot of sugar.

Team Move Turns Six!

October 11, 2011 Leave a comment

Yes it’s true, Team Move turns the big six this month!  For six years Team Move has been one of the most trusted fitness brands on the island, and one of the longest running fitness companies on Oahu.  The brand that you now know today as Team Move, was founded by Damon Iaea and Kim Lehano back in October of 2005.  A little known fact in the history of the company is that the word “Move” was originally an acronym which stood for “Motivating Others Via Exercise.”

One of the first classes that was developed by Team Move was a capoeira class.   Soon other “Signature” classes like HardCORE, Swim X, and the now popular dodgeball, would soon follow.  Private swim lessons and personal training services were later developed in 2006, which established the company as a full service outdoor fitness company.  Before you knew it, the movement had already begun.  Team Move was soon featured in magazines, newspapers, and television.  Those who followed Team Move and participated in their programs were soon referred to simply as a “Mover.”  Now in 2011 after helping and motivating hundreds of people, the question is … what is next?

Team Move will be celebrating all month long with surprises that will knock your running shoes off!  The staff at Team Move would like to sincerely thank you for all your support over the years.  Stay tuned Movers, you haven’t seen nothing yet.
